Ray Mill House: The Duchess of Cornwall Private Home
It is not widely known that The Duchess of Cornwall has a private home, and according to Charles and Camilla's official website, the Duchess keeps the Wiltshire home to spend time with her children and grandchildren there.
Camilla bought the property in 1996 for £ 850,000 with the proceeds of her divorce from Andrew Parker Bowles, the state located in Lacock, Wiltshire is only a 15-minute drive away from Highgrove. The Duchess of Cornwall moved out of Ray Mill to live with Prince Charles at Clarence House in 2003 but ever since visits the house to escape from the demands of royal life and the spotlight.
Her Royal Highness seems to be very found of Wiltshire, living there for more than 30 years. Her relationship with the West Country started in 1973 after marring Andrew as they moved to Bolehyde Manor, near Chippenham.

Ray Mill also must be a great place for Camilla's five grandkids as they can run and play freely without being concerned with tidiness and how the place looks.
In 2006 the Duchess daughter, Laura Lopes, held her wedding reception at the mid Victorian country home. The 380 guests included The Prince of Wales, The Duke of Cambridge and The Duke of Sussex and 2,000 well wishers lined the streets after the ceremony at St Cyriac's parish church.
The lastest news regarding Ray Mill were published in 2018, when the Duchess neighbour was granted planning permission for a huge overhaul of his property. Back then, some people living in the area expressed their concern that the building work would disturb Camilla.
I belive owning Ray Mill has unquestionably contributed to Camilla's ease of mind and ultimately to her success in leading royal life, as she can always have private moments to relax and happy encounter with her beloved family.
